This little island between the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, north of Trinidad and Tobago was originally host to the Carib Indians, before the French took over control. As so many other Caribbean Islands, Grenada was subject to many battles and finally ended up in the hands of the British. Currently independent, it's economy relies for the largest part on tourism. On the edge of the hurricane belt, it offers a wealth of flora and fauna, lovely beaches and quaint towns, all with hints to their historic pasts. The capital, St. George's, is widely held to be the loveliest city in the Caribbean.

Grenada is called " the Spice Island" because the mountainous island is covered with fragrant spice trees and rare tropical flowers. Bordered by stunning beaches, and dotted with picturesque towns, this verdant island has long been a major source of nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and cocoa. In the interior you'll find cascading rivers and waterfalls, lush rainforests, and one of the most breathtakingly beautiful mountain lakes imaginable. Therefore a system of national parks and protected areas has been established to attract hikers, birdwatchers and nature lovers. The magnificent Grand Etang Forest Reserve and the La Sagesse estuary are some examples of the natural beauty of this Island.

Not over-exposed to the international tourism flow yet,  Grenada is another undiscovered jewel in the chain.
