Palm Springs

Nestled in the coves formed by the steep cliffs of the San Jacinto Mountain range, this old Cahuilla Indian settlement, depicts the essence of desert tranquility.

Early and in the midst of the 20th century, the best of the best from the Hollywood entertainment scene, descended on this quiet oasis and put it on the map for eternity.
Commerce and hospitality industries followed, fueled by lavish hotels, exciting golf courses, tennis courts and swimming pools galore. The whole area enjoyed development and prosperity, working its way throughout the Coachella Valley.
Palm Desert's El Paseo became Beverly Hills's Rodeo Drive of the desert, and Palm Canyon Drive a copy of Hollywood Boulevard. Gated communities sprawled in Rancho Mirage, Cathedral City and La Quinta, making, the Coachella Valley a unique destination.

Its mild winters attract vacationers from all over the globe.

Bordered by Joshua Tree National Park to the North-East, the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument to the West, the Salton Sea and the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park to the South, the cities of the Coachella Valley offer activities and nature exploring in abundance, unique in the world, and all within 1 hour driving radius.

During summer, when  temperatures are well into the 100s in the desert, the mountains offer more than 54 miles of hiking trails, camping and guided nature walks as a pleasant alternative. Less than 45 minutes away, via the scenic route of the Palms to Pines Highway 74, you'll find the alpine town of Idyllwild at 5,000 ft. where sheer granite cliffs embrace cedars and pines.

During winter, a tram ride from the desert floor, to the mountain ridge can bring you from the high 70s  to a chilly 32F or under. And in spring when the desert blooms, the flowering prickly pear cacti, the chollas and ocotillos display a serene beauty, seldom surpassed.

And let's not forget, the incredible scenery of the Indian Canyons, preserved by the Agua Caliente Band of the Cahuilla tribe, with their history, going back for Centuries, where hot water springs and melting snow , find their way through California native palm tree groves and sheer canyon walls.

This destination offers a wealth of possibilities, from just relaxing by the pool and enjoying the desert or its thermal waters in one of the many Spas, to more intensive activities like hiking, exploration, birding, 4-wheeling, mountain climbing etc.

Playing Golf on one of the many professional courses or "jet-setting" and shopping on Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs or El Paseo in Palm Desert, the Coachella Valley caters to the Honeymooner as well as the casual getaway vacationer. It is a refuse for the ones who want to leave the cold behind in winter and a heaven for the ones that seek desert tranquility.

Ontario International Airport and Palm Springs Airport offer connections throughout the US and Interstate 10 is the main East West artery, running from Los Angeles to Phoenix (AZ) , crossing conveniently the Coachella Valley.
